How a 14-Year-Old Boy Escaped Abduction. Marvelous Ayomide Ogunjolu, a 14-year-old boy and secondary school student, was abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in Ondo town, Ondo state. He has since reunited with his family after escaping by a whisker from his abductors.

The Abduction: How it Happened

Ayomide’s father sent him on an errand to buy toothpaste in Owo town, but on his way back, he was accosted by some men who warned him not to shout or risk getting shot. Fearing for his life, Ayomide went with them, crying all the while. They drove him from Owo to Akure through Ondo town and later to Ore.

The Escape: A Close Call

As they were taking him to Edo state, Ayomide saw a police car approaching with sirens blaring. He seized the opportunity to shout for help, and the kidnappers, frightened, quickly dropped him off on a street called Akinjagunla in Ondo town. After asking for directions, he was able to make his way back to his family.

Aftermath: Mob Justice and Reunion with Family

The kidnappers reportedly fled the scene before they could be mobbed by youths in the town. Ayomide has been reunited with his family, but the trauma of his ordeal is likely to stay with him for a long time to come.
